Stiltskin Studios came up with a great idea for using a furniture stencil with Chalk Paint™ furniture paint in a surprising new way! The surprise comes when it’s time to expand the dining table for entertaining and holidays. Stencil drop-in table leaves with a pretty pattern like our Ribbon Damask stencil. In this case, the table was painted in a lovely combo of Chalk Paint in Duck Egg Blue and Old White. Base painting the leaves in the Duck Egg color and stenciling with Old White provides a pretty pattern that becomes the focal point of the table. Just add flowers (and food!) and enjoy! Isn’t furniture stenciling easy peasy?
Stencilling furniture is a great way to earn extra money, you could even make quite a good living at it if you decided to do it full time. There is a big market for upcycled furniture, you may not like stenciled furniture yourself but can do it with ease, if that’s the case then why not consider upcycling some old furniture and selling it. You can pick up cheap old furniture at car boot sales or even on the internet at online auction websites, it doesn’t really matter what the exterior of the item of furniture looks like if you’re going to upcycle it anyway so you could get some really great pieces of furniture for a great price. Now with a bit of elbow grease and a steady hand you can turn that old piece of furniture into something fresh and new, then simply sell it on the internet at the online auction site you bought it from (or another one whatever you prefer), just remember that if you intend on offering delivery that you find a furniture delivery company first so that you can either charge the same price for delivery as you are being charged, or make sure to put a reserve on the item of furniture that incorporates your costs, the cost of delivery and the amount of money you’d like to make for the piece of furniture.
