16 Interiors that Nail the ‘Pattern & Plants’ Look

Jungalow Style – the aesthetic and name of Justina Blakely’s blog – is taking the interior design world by storm and her signature look has come to stand for bold, vibrant, and colorful bohemian chic. “Jungalow” style is a playful mix of jungle and bungalow, with vibrant colors and contrasting patterns. This decorating style fearlessly celebrates patterns by mixing and matching with no rules. They’re all fair game. In fact, the more you mix in, the better they’ll all work together. You can recreate the look of kuba cloth, suzani, ikat, batik, paisley, or geometric with Royal Design Studio Stencils on fabric, furniture, walls, and floors. Need proof of playful pattern that works? Check out these stenciled spaces that are creative and artsy, unique and layered, and inspiring the Jungalow lifestyle…

I can’t say enough good things about the Cheetah Spots Wall Stencil from Royal Design Studio.  It’s totally transforming the space and I’m in luuuvvvvv…. 💕” says @preppybohemianathome. Unlike expensive wallpaper, our wall stencils can be painted in any color palette and are budget-friendly!

Artist and designer Bari J says, “Do you have a totally ignored space in your home? Give it some life. I gave our dark boring back hallway a makeover with Royal Design Studio’s Mandala Fusion Wall Stencil. They have so many design choices to ignite your home, even a few exclusive Bari J Stencils!”

New accent wall alert! @theaccidentalbohemian is a first time stenciler and she says, “What a difference this wall has made in our bedroom! It’s so pretty I can’t stop staring at it. Thanks to Royal Design Studio and their Tribal Batik Wall Stencil, my bedroom has been given a good dose of oomph!”

@nicholnaranjo likes switching out the inside of her fireplace mantle with different decorating possibilities. She says, “The Antoinette Damask Wall Stencil makes me so happy and it’s perfect. It was so easy! I stenciled a thin and inexpensive panel from the hardware store using paints I had last left over from previous projects-and voila!”

Just take a moment to transport yourself to this modern Mediterranean escape… Dabito painted his concrete patio with our All The Angles Moroccan Stencil… and The Jungalow loves it so much that she shared it too!! This stenciled floor will hold up for years even with the crazy New Orleans weather.

Rachel spent a weekend getting her patio oasis ready for this weekend’s guests. Stenciling the concrete floor with our Anatolia Tile Stencil gave her outdoor decor a “Jungalow” boho chic look. Her DIY project was so quick and easy!

This eclectic bohemian look is straight from Morocco! Our Skylar’s Lace Floral Stencil was painted directly over the concrete floor to soften the room and add yet another pattern to this pattern playroom.

I couldn’t be more excited with the fantastic results of my Royal Design Studio stenciled wall. This is the first time I did a project like this, but I read the instructions and armed myself with the recommended supplies. I’m completely impressed with how easy it was for me, a first timer with zero skills. The finished wall looks amazing and I’m so happy with the transformation!” says @lillithortiz. She used our  Starry Moroccan Night Wall Stencil and Royal Stencil Brush to complete her bohemian style room.

Check out Jessica Brigham’s Modern Boho bathroom makeover! She says, “Can you stencil tile? Yes. Yes you can. I originally wanted to rip out my discount white tile but after using the Contempo Trellis Stencil, I am head-over-freaking-heels at how beautiful it turned out! It was my first time Stenciling but Royal Design Studio makes one heck of a stencil with instructions.”

Get the same look you see in wedding magazines with decor that you can afford, customize, DIY, and stencil! Our Tribal Batik Stencil was used on Tanya List Design’s table runner and featured on Inspired By This.

Forget the adage about neutrals for large furniture and go bold with a colorful couch. We have been spotting upholstered pieces in shades of deep green in many trendy home settings. Soft neutral or bold and bright, green is a surprisingly complimentary partner with other colors and for many design styles. This means it has great versatility: You can take it in a more rustic direction (think leaves and twigs) or go full-out jewel-tone glam with our Lisboa Tile Wall Stencil. The dark green can also easily look classic and cozy nested in a boho living room full of warm reds and yellows. Bonus points if your couch is tufted and velvet!

The Francesca Floral Damask Wall Stencil is inspired by a Spanish folk textile but we’ve glammed up this flower design by pairing it with metallic foil to create a luxurious pink and gold accent wall. It’s a little bit “country” and a little bit rock and roll!

Cork is a timeless material because of its natural, environmentally friendly, and resilient qualities. Because cork comes from nature itself, no piece is the same, offering a multitude of grain, texture, and color choices. No wonder it’s finding a new popularly in today’s modern interiors! We wanted to kick it up a notch so created an easy and inexpensive IKEA Hack by covering a parsons table with cork sheeting-and then complimented it with a trendy stencil. Watch our DIY tutorial video How to Stencil Cork Furniture Ikea Hack to see how you can introduce this decor trend into your own home (easily!) using our Mandala Fusion Tile Stencil.

Get easy bohemian style and the Anthropologie look: Layer your room with mixed patterns, vintage textiles, stencils, and artwork! The Jones Fix used our Splendor Damask Wall Stencil from our Bari J Stencil Collection.

@vivid and @lizardyouth are head over heels with Raven+Lily’s store, stenciled walls, stenciled floor, and generosity to helping women around the globe. And so are we! 20% net sales of our Raven+Lily Stencil Collection goes to Tirzah International to teach marginalized women business and life skills.

Guess what’s just as difficult as picking out the perfect shoes to compliment a chic outfit? Picking your favorite wall stencil to compliment your decor! @caseypins loves using her Cheetah Spots Wall Stenciled wall as a photo backdrop. It’s too fun and fierce not too!
