Lana and Joey bought a cute Nashville cottage back in March that they are painting “happy” one room at a time. The mud-room is one of the most active rooms in their home and is used as the main point of entry & exit. So, it was next on their list of room makeovers.
They wanted to give this room a whimsical look using contrasting colors and a playful pattern. Lana decided to go with a classic black n’ white combination for our Cheetah Spots Stencil, transforming the mud-room into a cheerful entryway!
Impressively, Joey took over the task of stenciling the Cheetah Spots. Lana admits that many spots had to be hand-corrected with a tiny paint brush, but we think the finished walls make the mud-room happy! Joey did a terrific job!
Pro-tips:
- To minimize touch-ups after stenciling, be sure to “OFF-LOAD” most of the paint from the stencil brush on a paper towel. This will prevent paint from bleeding under the stencil.
- Try our Royal Stencil Cremes that are specially designed for stenciling. Our Flat Black Stencil Crème would be perfect for projects like these.
…am over the moon with the results… we were originally going to do this to our dining room, but I chickened out. I am kind of bummed I did.”
Lana’s blog post, A Little Paint Therapy has adorable pictures of their new mud-room, so be sure to check it out.
