It’s getting a tad bit chilly out during these holiday months and curling up next to the fireplace with an easy DIY project and a good book has never sounded better. Annie Sloan’s Unfolded blog, The Palette, shows you how to beautify your winter reads with stencils from Royal Design Studio. No fabric or paper needed! They transform these books by simply painting directly on the covers.
To achieve a polished look, they used Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint, Decoupage, Gold Leaf, and Stencil Size. They also used Royal Design Studio’s Blossom Floral Stencil, Asmir Triangle Stencil, Petal Play Floral Damask Stencil, Houndstooth Stencil, and Polka Party Stencil. Annie Sloan Unfolded talked about how versatile Chalk Paint® is:
“While we love our large projects, in between meetings and daily work, they are not always the easiest to start. Smaller projects, however, have become somewhat of an outlet during the busy workweek, as we are label to get into the studio, be creative, and relax throughout the day.”
For a vibrant book shelf, they stenciled our Houndstooth Stencil, Polka Party Stencil, Blossom Floral Stencil, Asmir Triangle Stencil, Elsabet Trellis Stencil, Triangulations Stencil, Petal Play Floral Damask Stencil, Peacock Feather Stencil, Adana Abstract Floral Stencil, and Morse Code Stencil from Royal Design Studio with a bunch of complementary Chalk Paint colors.
And voila! What a difference Chalk Paint® and stencils can make! What stencils would you use to decorate the books in your office or home?
