A dollhouse can be one of the sweetest memories for a child. Beth & Nick from the Sawdust & Embryos blog decided to create one for their two daughters. Being the DIY dynamos that they are, they also added lots of personal and special touches. They have done a lot of innovative projects with Royal Design Studio stencils and we were tickled pink to see the patterns incorporated into the dollhouse!
The dollhouse was a part of Beth’s childhood. She wanted to revamp the home for her daughters and it underwent an extreme renovation. A shingled roof was added, new trim installed as well as a three bedroom expansion were among the numerous upgrades. Since the ‘new’ stenciled dollhouse would end up in the girls’ room, they matched the exterior to the colors of the stenciled herringbone patchwork wall.
The Chez Sheik Furniture Stencil was used to add an allover wallpaper pattern to a small piece of card stock and then later installed as the living room wall. The Small Spanish Lace Furniture Stencil helped create a faux tile floor look for the bathroom. So creative! Both stencils are from the Furniture Stencils Collection and the patterns are sized perfectly for smaller projects and crafts.
So sweet! Both girls love their dollhouse and Beth & Nick say it’s a pleasure to hear them play “house”. Be sure to stop by their blog to read more about their final dollhouse flourishes. How about you? Have stencils helped you create something unique and personal for someone special? We’d love to hear about it!
