What do you do with an old dresser that doesn’t match your room’s color scheme anymore? Trash it?
Steph of Crafting in the Rain found herself with a dresser that her son grew out of. With its baby-blue color, it would look quite out of place in an adult room. It needed some up-cycling! So, armed with a stencil, some paint and a paint brush, she transformed it into a work of art.
Steph started off by painting the dresser and drawers with two coats of dark grey paint. Annie Sloan’s Graphite Chalk Paint® will get a very similar base coat. Once the paint was dry, she stenciled our Fleur de Lace stencil on the front of the drawers with a lighter shade of grey like Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey Chalk Paint®.
Although some of the paint peeled, she nailed the art of stenciling with perfection. The dresser not only looks gorgeous, but brand new! Get some pro tips on Steph’s blog post Lace Stenciled Dresser.
