We’ve been noticing a pretty table trend lately-dressing up table tops with stencils! Stenciling a tabletop can be a GREAT first stencil project – it’s so fast, fun, and easy! Any size tabletop is fair game for stenciling, but small accent tables like end tables, nesting tables, entry and coffee tables will give you a wonderful area for highlighting with paint and stencils. Even just a tone-on-tone pattern will add a little extra pizazz. The HARDEST part may be picking OUT the stencil when we have SO many choices in our Furniture Stencils collection! Here are four adorable projects from our friends in blogland to get your creative juices flowing…
Debra from the Bungalow Blog used Chalk Paint™ furniture paint in Provence to freshen up some small side tables that she had sitting around in her basement. She stenciled the Small Moroccan Arches Furniture Stencil in Off White Chalk Paint™, then waxed and distressed with some light sanding for an instant “aged” look. What about you? Do you have an attic or basement that is ripe for pickin‘ a furniture project piece?
Thrift stores are another a GREAT resource for inexpensive furniture to paint, and Virginia used our Chez Sheik Moroccan furniture stencil on a $15 vanity table and stool that she snagged for this furniture painting project from her blog. Notice how the light blue paint on the furniture ties into the wall color for a coordinated, understated look. So pretty!
Inexpensive furniture can be found at the big box stores too! Just ask Hannah of Champagne Lifestyle on a Beer Budget. She found these “distressed” TV tables at Target to stencil for just $8.99. The modern Hollywood Squares stencil fits her living room perfectly, and the TV trays are so handy to pull in and set up for a movie (or Bravo!) munching marathon.
Finally, our friends at Hueology, Trish and MJ shared this gorgeous writing desk (or entry table) that they madeover with Chalk Paint™ furniture paint in Graphite and Old White along with our popular lettering stencil, Springtime in Paris. This piece was destined for sale in their store, but was actually purchased on the spot by a passerby as they were painting it in the garage. Is it any surprise? It’s SO elegant!
We’re so thankful for the talent shared here! Do YOU have a furniture stencil project you’d like to share? If so, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
