Could anything be more adorable than dressing your pumpkin up during his or her first Halloween season? We’ve got all the tools you need to personalize your own onesies! Let’s start with the supplies you’ll need:
- 3 sets of all-white Onesies
- Stencils: Pumpkin Craft Stencil, Stray Cat Craft Stencils, Night Sky Star Craft Stencil
- Rit Dye in Navy Blue, and Orange
- Discharge Paste
- Large and Medium Tee Juice Pens in Black, Orange and Green
- Antique Silver Stencil Cream
- 2 Stencil brushes both 1/2″ in diameter
Step 1: Dye each onesies following the instructions in the dye package. (If you already have colored onesies that you would like to use, those will work fine!)
Step 2: Once dry, put a piece of paper or cardboard inside the onesie to avoid the product bleeding in to the other side.
Step 3: Tape your onesie to your desired surface and center your stencil on the onesie. Map out the design and make sure the pattern fits where you want to place your design. Using a ½ “ stencil brush stencil the moon and stars of the pattern with the discharge paste, make sure to off load your brush before stenciling on the fabric. Allow to dry.
Step 4: While that moon and stars dry, use your large black tee juice pen to pounce through the cat motif on the stencil. Do the same with the pumpkins on the white onesie and randomly pick a few pumpkins to stencil them orange. Don’t forget to color the stem green!
Step 5: Once the discharge paste is dry, iron the onesie on a high setting and using steam.
Step 6: Re-place your stencil on top of your existing pattern. After ironing the fabric, the fibers will stretch, so, most likely your stencil won’t be a perfect match anymore. Don’t worry this will add a “glow” to your pattern.
Step 7: Stencil the moon using Antique Silver with a 1/2 “ stencil brush, to add I little bit of shine to the rest of the design lightly brush along one side of the stars and on top of the cat as if the moon was shining on them.
And you are done! Adorable Halloween onesies for your Little Pumpkin!
